Middle School Choir Director, Grades Six-Eight, 2008-09

The faculty of Bright Water School is seeking colleagues to join our experienced staff and our dedicated parents. Bright Water is a vibrant community working towards its mission to support families and serve the greater community, out of our continually deepening understanding and practice of Waldorf education.

Our programs include two parent and toddler classes, two preschool classes, two full-sized kindergarten classes, and Grades 1-8. Grade school classes have a full range of Subject Lessons, including Japanese, eurythmy, Spanish, woodworking, strings, choir, band, physical education, and handwork.

We are a part of the active and growing Waldorf network in Seattle and the northwest and enjoy a supportive and close relationship with our sister school, the Seattle Waldorf School. Seattle also is home to a Waldorf teacher training program, eurythmy training, and a Waldorf high school.

Our school is a developing member of AWSNA. In his recent report to AWSNA, a consultant wrote about Bright Water School, "I feel that the reasons for the school's founding were positive ones, and that, together with the initial inclusion of experienced Waldorf educators, has made the spiritual underpinnings of the school sounder than most."

Seattle is the gem of the Pacific Northwest; a culturally diverse city that is committed to preserving the heart of its downtown. Within an hour from downtown one can find oneself skiing, sitting on the beach, standing in a rainforest, on an island, or climbing Mt. Rainier. The city itself is a conglomeration of many neighborhoods, each with its own high street of shops and local gathering places.

We are seeking creative individuals who are inspired by our mission, who have an active interest in the world and other cultures, who have a strength for pioneering work and who have some Waldorf experience.
